The Flashbag is Back
Hello all my dear and lovely Flashbags. The FB is back after a 1 month hiatus. Life over here at the Flashbag Studios can be a bit challenging at times; it is an art trying to maintain a high level productivity while simultaneously keeping our figurative fingers on the pulse of cool.
So we're back to start August off with a BANG! Before I delve into this week's Hot Traxx, please check out Pete Tong's July 29th Essential Mix on the http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio - BBC 1 Channel. Many of these weeks tunes were inspired by DJs appearing at the WOMAD festival in the UK.
1. Gorillaz 'Dare (James Talk Remix)' (Parlophone) - This tune is catchy, cute and absolutely brilliant. The Gorillaz are back with a very sophisticated offering of floor-filling dance gems.
2. Lifelike & Kris Menace 'Discopolis' (Vulture) - The Flashbag is not at all familiar with this duo, so this entry is a pleasant surprise for us baggers. This is a wonderfully orchestrated, inter-galatic, future-retro piece that is sure to please a wide variety of musical appetites.
3. Funkagenda 'Gypsy Woman' (White Label) - This song makes the Flashbaggie so happy, I can hardly keep my bag closed. See if you house aficinados can decipher the classic track this white label samples.
4. Supafly vs Fishbowl 'Lets Get Down' (Eye Industries) - A Bob-Marley inspired track from Supafly. This tune reminds the FB of sunshines, picnics in the park and a Fine Femme Fatale we like to call "Mary" here at the FB Studios.
5. H20 'Bouncer' (Underwater) - This song is soooo magical and amazing, the Flashbaggie can hardly give it proper credit through a meager explanation. Just find it, buy it, shake your tushies and cherish it for eternity.
6. Thomas Andersson 'Drop In Wash Up (Luke Morrison Re-Edit)' (Bpitch Control) - Snoop Dogg and Pharrell are re-discovered in this infectious JAM!
Well, the tunes listed above are so fantastic and wil create such an outbreak of crazed dance mania, that the Flashbaggie does not feel it necessary to list the usual 10 Hot Traxx this week. Check 'em out and tell us what you think. Until next time, the Flashbag is OVA and OUT.
